Star Wars – Rules Update

Force and Destiny – Morality Revisited

Base Morality

Morality is a guideline of how “good” a character is in relation to using the force. Morality is changed based on conflict as per page 324 of Force and Destiny Core Rules.

Lightside Threshold

Activates when personal morality has increased above 70.

Further Thresholds of 80 and 90 exist with a morality of 100 being required to access some holocron training.

Darkside Threshold

Activated when personal morality has dropped below 30.

Further Thresholds of 20 and 10 exist with a morality of 0 being beyond redemption.

House Rule Changes

Character corruption moved to the end of each major story arc, for small adventures this is usually at the end of the story, and for larger adventures, it is when Duty or Obligation would normally be awarded. Further thoughts on what is available or not available via holocrons considered the following.

Light Side Holocron Access

The following limitations have been put in place:

• Each 10 points of Morality is a threshold from 70 (1), 80 (2), 90 (3) and 100 (4)
• To access the holocron, you need to be closer to the light than the dark.
• If a holocron calls out to you and you ignore the call, it won’t call again.
• To learn a Force Power you need to have Achieved a threshold equal to the force required to take that power.
• The difficulty of the knowledge it provides is based on the threshold you have achieved with its morality.

Dark Side Holocron Access

The following limitations have been put in place:

• Each 10 points of Morality is a threshold from 30 (1), 20 (2), 10 (3) and 0 (4)
• To access the holocron, you need to be reducing your morality or achieve a threshold.
• If a holocron calls out to you and you ignore the call, it may do so again when there is a great need.
• To learn a Force Power you need to have Achieved a threshold equal to the force required to take that power.
• The difficulty of the knowledge it provides is based on the threshold you have achieved with its morality.
