  • Magical Item – Very Rare – Candle of Invocation – Matter – 15,000 gp
    • Standard: This slender taper is dedicated to a deity and shares that deity’s sphere and element. The candle’s element can be detected with the detect evil and good spell.
    • The candle’s magic is activated when the candle is lit, which requires an action. After burning for 4 hours, the candle is destroyed. You can snuff it out early for use at a later time. Deduct the time it burned in increments of 1 minute from the candle’s total burn time.
    • While lit, the candle sheds dim light in a 30-foot radius. Any creature within that light whose type matches that of the candle makes attack rolls, saving throws, and ability checks with advantage.
    • In addition, a cleric or druid in the light whose element or an associated secret craft matches the candle’s can cast 1st-level spells he or she has prepared without expending spell slots, though the spell’s effect is as if cast with a 1st-level slot.
    • A candle of matter is effective with Beasts, Oozes, Plants and Earth based or aspected creatures.
    • Attunement: While the candle is lit, any secret crafts you use connected with the associated sphere have their soul burn drain reduced by 1.
    • Ritually casting Abjuration and Conjuration spells have advantage, and casting these school within the light have the DC’s increased by 2 when not cast as rituals.
    • Prepared 1st level spells from a linked Secret Craft can be cast without expanding a spell slot, and casts as if using a 1st-level slot.
    • Alternatively, when you light the candle for the first time, you can cast the gate spell with it. Doing so destroys the candle.
    • Relic: A genasi who uses this item can on first lighting it destroy the item to take on the aspects of earth on top of any existing elemental aspect they have. A earth genasi can reduce the use of secret crafts associated with other spheres as if they came from the sphere of earth.

I am a long term gamer, I run 6 RPG's a fortnight, host board game, card game and LANs each about once a quarter and have an addiction to buying more games. Games I am currently running are Pathfinder (1st and 2nd Edition) and Dungeons and Dragons (5th Edition).
