PF2 Build Cangacerio Druid Human Half-Elf

Pathfinder2 – Class Build

Cangacerio – Human Half-Elf Druid – Wild Order

pf2-rb-cr PF2 Core Rulebook
pf2-rb-cr – PF2 Core Rulebook (pzo2101-se)

This is how the Character known as Cangacerio was built and the problems associated with building for a campaign, setting and story vs building for specific mechancis and how they are not always compatible.

Step 1 – Create a Concept

As this campaign was based at the start of the Pathfinder era including a lot of the original concept was building characters using the core book, which were viable in the timeline.

Mechanical Concept

The player wanted to build a druid as a better fighter then the fighters of the party having researched Min/Max concepts online pulling on every resource published in the game. Evey option was geared towards a combat oriented druid.

Team Concept

This character had no team concept in its foundation beyond being in the campaign.

Religious Concept

This character had no religious concept in its foundation byond being a druid.

Step 2 – Ability Scores

A starting character has 10 in all their ability scores, noting for Druid the key ability score is Wisdom.

Str 10 – Dex 10 – Con 10 – Int 10 – Wis 10 – Cha 10

Step 3 – Ancestry

The characters base ancestry is Human which provides the following:

  • Hit Points – 8
  • Size – Medium
  • Speed – 25 ft
  • Ability Boost – Two Free Ability Boots – Str and Dex
    • Option – Boost Con, Wis, Flaws Int and Cha
  • Language – Common, Additional language (Slyvan)
  • Heritage – Half-Breed
    • Traits – Elven, Half-Breed
    • Perception – Low-light Vision
    • Language – Elven
  • Ancestry Feat – Natural Skill (Acrobatics, Athletics)
  • Trais – Human, Humanoid

Step 4 – Pick a Background

Source: Field Medic (pf2-rb-cr p62)

In the chaotic rush of battle, you learned to adapt to rapidly changing conditions as you administered to battle casualties. You patched up soldiers, guards, or other combatants, and learned a fair amount about the logistics of war.

  • Attributes – Background Feat – Field Medic
    • Two Ability Boosts – Con or Wis plus extra

    • Skill – Warefare Lore (T)
    • Feat – Battle Medic
  • Attribute – Location Feat – Kaer Maga (Rare)
    • Skill – Kaer Maga Lore (T)

While this background might not be ideal for a druid, it can explain why they went off into the wilderness and left civilization behind. Leaving questions of what their army was fighting, did they leave voluntarily, or were they a deserter, last survivor and what horrors of battle did they witness.

Step 5 – Choose a Class

The chosen class is Druid.

GM Thoughts of Character

Thoughts on Level 1

The character is very enthusiastic and has developed a complex relating to vampires. The character has managed to become runescarred, and has developed a phobia realting to vampires, which is partly due to his specific runescarring.

As its played in game, it is good, if a little over excited. Overall this is good addition to the table and the player is working out well.

Thoughts on Level 2

A lot more vampire jokes and a DC added when ever the character does not react to the prompts, though has not had to roll that DC yet, so the player was not told it was there until they wanted to resist. Links to Vampires has been established as has links to Thassilonian artefacts.
