- Magical Item – Rare – Weapon of Wounding – 12,000 gp
- Standard: Hit points lost to this weapon’s damage can be regained only through a short or long rest, rather than by regeneration, magic, or any other means.
- Attunement: Once per turn, when you hit a creature with an attack using this magic weapon, you can wound the target. At the start of each of the wounded creature’s turns, it takes 1d4 necrotic damage for each time you’ve wounded it, and it can then make a DC 15 Constitution saving throw, ending the effect of all such wounds on itself on a success. Alternatively, the wounded creature, or a creature within 5 feet of it, can use an action to make a DC 15 Wisdom (Medicine) check, ending the effect of such wounds on it on a success.
- Relic: If wielded by an darkness (entropic) Genasi, change the damage dice to 1d6 necrotic.
Example Campaign Items – Weapon of Wounding
- Glaive of Halav’s Return (W051)
Glaive of Halav (W051)
- Magical Item – Rare – Glaive of Halav’s Return – 12,500 gp
- Standard: Hit points lost to this weapon’s damage can be regained only through a short or long rest, rather than by regeneration, magic, or any other means. You have a bonus of +1 to attack and damage rolls made with this magic weapon. In darkness, the unsheathed blade of this sword sheds moonlight, creating bright light in a 15 ft radius and dim light for an additional 15 ft.
- With an action you can activate the item. This weapon when held, will provide direction to Dmitri, Scion of Halav. It glows brighter when pointed in the direction of the target but does not provide distance or shortest route to target as long as they are within 8 mile.
- Attunement: If you attune this item it also adds one dice to the dice of damage. Increase the radius by 15 ft.
- You can use a bonus action to activate the item detection of Dmitri, Scion of Halav, as long as they are within 16 miles.
- Once per turn, when you hit a creature with an attack using this magic weapon, you can wound the target.
If used by a Giant it provides an extra dice against Dragonkin. If you are a Halfling, your family name and clan appears on the blade taking on your herritage. If you are an Eastshire Halfling, you have lowlight vision while attuned to this item. If you are human then the distance the detection of Dmitri, Scion of Halav, works to is increased by 8 miles, and if your Ethengarian then the distance is doubled.
