Expendable Items can be attuned on use, at the cost of a random attuned item and slot.

  • Magical Item – Rare – Staff of Stone – 12,000 gp
    • Requirement: To attune this item you need to be a druid, sorcerer, or wizard
    • Standard: This staff is about 6 ft long, and appears to be fashioned from a thin stony stalactite which glistens with moisture and has a ball-like head composed of glittery mica. Although it appears heavy and unwieldy, its actually dry, cool to the touch, and quite light.
    • While holding this staff unattuned, you can cast one spell, with the staff taking as many weeks to recharge as the charges that would normally be used to cast that spell.
    • Attunement: Once attuned to the device, the staff can be wielded as a magic quarterstaff that grants a +1 bonus to attack and damage rolls.
    • The staff has 21 charges that can be used to power the spells listed below. The staff regains 1d6+1 charges weekly as long as it is in contact with a stony surface. If the last charge is expended, roll 1d20. On a 20, the staff regains 1d6+1 charges. On a 2-4, the staff becomes inert of 1 day and loose 1d6+1 from its maximum charges. On a 1, the staff crumbles and becomes a worthless pile of rubble.
    • While holding this staff and using an action, 1 or more of its charges can be used to cast one of the following spells, using your spell save DC and spell attack bonus: blade ward (1 charge), passwall (5 charges), stoneshape (4 charges), or wall of stone (5 charges).
    • Relic: If you are a genasi, you don’t have to spend a charge to activate the blade ward, and if you are a earth genasi then the staff also acts as a conduit for your racial feature allowing you to spend a charge to activate it as if it were a spell in the staff.

    • Standard: This staff is about 6 ft long, and appears to be fashioned from a thin stony stalactite which glistens with moisture and has a ball-like head composed of glittery mica. Although it appears heavy and unwieldy, its actually dry, cool to the touch, and quite light.

This staff is about 6 feet long, and appears to be fashioned from a thin stony stalactite which glistens with moisture and has a ball-like head composed of glittery mica. Although it appears heavy and unwieldy, it’s actually dry, cool to the touch, and quite light.

If the last charge is expended, roll 1 d20. On a 1, the staff regains 1d6 + 1 charges. On a 2-4, the staff becomes inert for 1 day and loses 1d6 + 1 charges. On a 20, the staff crumbles and becomes a worthless pile of rubble.

I am a long term gamer, I run 6 RPG's a fortnight, host board game, card game and LANs each about once a quarter and have an addiction to buying more games. Games I am currently running are Pathfinder (1st and 2nd Edition) and Dungeons and Dragons (5th Edition).
