• Magical Item – Unommon – Puzzle Box – Level 3 – 500 gp
  • Standard: This item holds a spell until it is opened. While making an Investigation DC 18, you can spend three actions to unlock this puzzle box (each action is required to be a success). Upon opening the box you set off the held spell and the box rests to it closed position, the box is now empty and futher opening has no effect until another spell is placed in it.
  • Attunement: While attuned to this item, you can open the box using a single action with a DC 18 Investigation check. During a long rest, while attuned and the box is empty, you can place a spell of up to third level into the box, specifying the effects of the spell in advance including target, range, effects. This includes target the opener, target the next person they look at, touch, etc. No awareness of the triggering condition is available from the puzzle blox.
  • Relic: If you are a human then the DC reduces to 16. If you are a nithian then the DC reduces to 14, and during a short rest can change the parameters of the triggering event, or wipe the current spell making a DC 18 check.
