Dungeons and Dragons – Mystara
Adventures AC 1003 – Relic Hunter – Lavv
The Discovery of Lavv
Source: The Grand Duchy of Karameikos (gaz1)
This adventure was originally part of the Basic Adventures section of Gazetteer 1 – The Grand Duchy of Karameikos which I modified and one of the changes to be investigated as part of the Wrath of the Immortals storyline.
This features in the following sections:
- Gazetteer – Karameikos
- AC 1003 – Relic Hunter – Lavv. A ruin has been discovered under Kelvin and experts are called in to verify.
The Original Concept
Baron Kelvin, having a dungeon level minded out beneath his manor, discovers ruins and calls in a scholar to interpret them. They realize that this is the historic Lavv, the site where King Halav lived many centuries ago. Word spread like wildfire and the Baron has to hire many guards (including the PCs) to protect his properties from the hordes of faithful Traladarans come to see the birthplace of their epic hero.
The excavators, however, break into a chamber where hundreds of the beat-men (gnolls) were buried in a mass grave, and some ancient magic animates them into an army of skeletons and zombies, intent on exterminating all humans as they tried so many years before…
- Adventure Level: 1-5, Basic (converts to 1 to 5)
- Topic: Exploration of ancient history.
- Interesting Features: undead, hints of the past, present and future.
- Campaign Hook: A chance to work with the Baron of Kelvin.
Not run as part of the campaign.
Can be run anywhere in the first five years of the campaign from Year One to Year Five, and can be adapted to run at other levels as an ongoing adventure option.
More to be written about the outcome.
