Dungeons and Dragons – Mystara
Adventures AC 1001 – Mystery of the Missing Rose
The Missing Rose
Source: The Grand Duchy of Karameikos (gaz1)
This adventure was originally part of the Basic Adventures section of Gazetteer 1 – The Grand Duchy of Karameikos which I modified and one of the changes to be investigated as part of the Wrath of the Immortals storyline.

This features in the following sections:
- Gazetteer – Karameikos
- Timeline
- AC 1001 – Mystery of the Missing Rose. A kidnapped girl and a plea for help from the Baron of Vorloi.
The Original Concept
In order to get some leverage on the Vorloi clan, the Veiled Society kidnaps Baron Vorloi’s daughter Marianna Vorloi (“The Rose of Vorloi”). Philip Vorloi knows that she was kidnapped with inside information, so he doesn’t trust his own guards. He hires the PCs to find Marianna Vorloi.
This is a mystery and combat adventure. The characters can find the suspiciously large amounts of money and jewelry in the possession of Grygori Vorloi, Marianna Vorloi’s jealous (and stupid) brother; they can find the witness who saw a young woman being carted off toward the Nest neighbourhood of Specularum by two hooded thugs; they can be approached by members of the Kingdom of the Thieves, who are willing to sell them information about the Veiled Society’s headquarters in the Nest; they can plan and execute the raid to free Marianna Vorloi.
Details
- Adventure Level: 1-5, Basic (converts to 1 to 5)
- Topic: Kingdom of Thieves, Veiled Society.
- Interesting Features: Quarrelling Rogue Societies.
- Campaign Hook: A chance for seeing the different societies.
The Outcome
Not run as part of the campaign.
Can be run anywhere in the first five years of the campaign from Year One to Year Five, and can be adapted to run at other levels as an ongoing adventure option.
Conclusion
More to be written about the outcome.
