This is a post relating to the migration of Order of the Gauntlet as an organisation called Order of the Gauntlet Agents into my Mystara setting so when I reference them in sourcebooks I know who I have adapted them to and why.

Who are The Order of the Gauntlet
The Order of the Gauntlet are an organisation set in the Forgotten Realm Campaign Setting.
The Order of the Gauntlet shares the Harpers’ dedication to justice and equality, but their methods and attitude are quite different. Bearers of the gauntlet are holy warriors on a righteous quest to crush evil and promote justice, and they never hide in the shadows. Evil must be opposed openly and vanquished in the light of day, so that all can see and be emboldened by its destruction.
Members of the order are driven by religious fervor and by devotion to the principle of justice for all. Whether a member places more emphasis on one or the other of those ideals is an individual choice. Camaraderie and esprit de corps run high within the order, and an individual member will risk anything to save a fellow member or to complete an important mission.
The Order of the Gauntlet is a young organization, and it is eager and restless for action. It does not take orders from any government or temple, although the opinions of holy figures are greatly esteemed within the order. When evil threatens, the gauntlet strikes.
This faction is primarily a military organization made up of paladins, clerics, and monks. Members of the order are faithful and vigilant seekers of justice who protect others from the depredations of evildoers. They exact swift retribution against those who violate the law.
Background – Faction Agent
One of the newest power groups in Faerun, the Order of the Gauntlet has an agenda similar to that of the Harpers. Its methods are vastly different, however: bearers of the gauntlet are holy warriors on a righteous quest to crush evil and promote justice, and they never hide in the shadows. Order agents tend to be proficient in Religion, and frequently seek aid from law enforcement friendly to the order’s ideals, and the clergy of the order’s patron gods.
Mystara Adventure Hooks
Order of the Gauntlet in Mystara
Each of the Paladin Organisations of the setting will be affiliated with the Order of the Gauntlet keeping the base name, but having branches in many of the Pantheons of the setting. They travel as Order of the Gauntlet when not wanting to advertise their political affiliations.
- Thyatian Empire Pantheon has the Order of the Griffin (based in Karameikos) with some members serving as a branch of the order.
Order of the Gauntlet in Darokin
Onthaarr Frume (Lawful good male human paladin) Boisterous and gregarious to a fault, Ontharr is the leading delegate for the Order of the Gauntlet. He has all the justification he needs to support the party However, the rest of the order is not yet convinced. In particular, the order does not tolerate evil, and if the characters are known to have committed acts of a dubious moral nature, Ontharr Frume will be pressured to withhold his support.
Order of the Gauntlet in Shadowlands
The Underdark has always been a proving ground for candidates of the order, as well as a frequent destination for veteran paladins, monks, and clerics looking to smite evil. It hasn’t taken long for reports of new threats rising in the Underdark to reach the order.
The demon lords embody the kind of evil the Order of the Gauntlet is sworn to destroy. All members of the order see the evolving situation as an opportunity to deal a mighty blow to the forces of the Abyss. They Want to send the demon lords howling back into the pit. proving the worth of the order as well as testing their own valor and bravery.
Order of the Gauntlet in Vestland
These are notes from Princes of the Apocalypse and Apply to the Red Larch region in the Dessian Valley connecting Vestland to the Ethengarian Steppes.
Atop a high crest in the Sumber Hills stands Summit Hall, home to the Knights of Samular. This venerable order of paladins of Tyr strives to promote justice in the savage North. The Order of the Gauntlet hopes to expand its influence in the region by joining the Knights to its cause.
In the western Sumber Hills, the order has little political influence. It hopes to correct this weakness by establishing alliances with local leaders who share its goals, such as the Waterbaron of Yartar. The order is even pursuing negotiations with fringe organizations.
Order of the Gauntlet in Other Settings
Dark Sun – Athas
The Free (from Princes of the Apocalypse)
The desert wilds are dotted with the hidden camps and strongholds of Athas’s slave tribes—bands of people who have managed to escape from slavery in one or another of the city-states. The Free is a tenuous, disorganized society or fellowship of the slave tribes of the Tyr Region. Even though the tribes do not cooperate with each other, they share important common values and work toward the same end: the destruction of slavery. They fulfill something like the role of the Order of the Gauntlet in Athas.
The Free are not directly concerned with fighting threats such as Elemental Evil, but they hate slaveholders and do everything they can to punish those who enslave others. The elemental cults take captives and force them to work on their mad projects, so the Free get involved to stop this practice and punish the perpetrators for their crimes.
Dragonlance – Krynn
The Knights of Solamnia (from Princes of the Apocalypse)
Replace the Order of the Gauntlet with the Knights of Solamnia, who are dedicated to upholding the cause of good. Although the Knights don’t exercise political power in the region, it is not unreasonable for the player characters to be their agents, on the lookout for unrest as the threat of war looms.
Greyhawk – Oerth
The Church of Saint Cuthbert (from Princes of the Apocalypse)
Greyhawk is home to several different paladin orders that could serve as a substitute for this faction, but the best fit is the Church of Saint Cuthbert. The Church includes clerics, paladins, and fighters who stand for law and order and generally oppose evil, and it is found in many different lands throughout the Flanaess.
Eberron
The Church of the Silver Flame or House Deneith (from Princes of the Apocalypse)
The Church of the Silver Flame is more narrowly religious than the Order of the Gauntlet, but its overall tone is similar. Because the Silver Flame is Thrane’s state religion, characters of any class from that nation might work toward the Silver Flame’s ends.
