Magical Item – Staff of Adornment

Standard: If you place an object weighing no more than 1 pound (such as a shard of crystal, an egg, or a stone) above the tip of the staff while holding it, the object floats an inch from the staff’s tip and remains there until it is removed or until the staff is no longer in your possession. The staff can have up to three such objects floating over its tip at any given time. While holding the staff, you can make one or more of the objects slowly spin or turn in place.

Attunement: The items float until your attunement ends. During a short rest you can capture a sphere of energy (DC 10 Intelligence (Arcana) check). This can then be used as one of the three floating objects. While floating it adds 1 point of damage to melee strikes of the energy type captured. As a free action it can be added to the casting of a spell of the same energy type to maximise a single dice in that attack before rolling. This free action uses up the energy sphere.

Relic: If you are a Genasi, the energy associated with your race does an extra point of damage. If you are an Air Genasi you can make a ranged attack with the floating object using +5 to attack and a range of 30 ft, and if the spell you maximise using the staff deals lightning or thunder damage, you can maximise the dice after rolling.
